#10063 new defect

Unable to un-encrypted wireless signal on ramips target Dir-600 B2 while WPA-PSK works fine

Description

First up thank you to everyone who helped evolving the rampis traget as far as it is now. Greta job!

I have a curious problem running trunk on 28169 on ramips target. I can connect to the Dir-600 B2 router on one SSID that is WPA-PSK encrypted without problem. logread output is as expected:

However, when trying to connect to an unecrypted SSID I cannot connect at all, and I do not receive an IP address. logread output looks like this:

I have tried some variations, like wpad-mini instead of hostapd, link wlan0 to the same internal network as wlan1, and a few different devices. It is all the same, no difference, I just cannot connect to the unencrypted SSID.

One would assume the issue is with one of the libraries that hostapd and wpad-mini are using. WHy is wpad-mini and hostapd even involved in an un-encrypted wireless connection?

Keen to resolve and test this. let me know any tests you want me to run.

Cheers
