#10257 closed enhancement (wontfix)

base-files package replace my custom package files (only files present in the package base-files also)

Description

I created one custom package for my project. I compiled numerous times in diferents trunk releases from 2005 without problems. In "recent" trunk releases (i froze the svn copy in February/2011), my files on package (only files present in the package base-files also) are replaced by files on base-files package.

My files : /etc/rc.local, /etc/config/network, /etc/config/wireles, etc

This configuration has always worked without problems in older versions. My log (make V=99 2>&1 | tee build.log | grep -i error) and my Makefile.

I found the only thing different about the log was this: Conffile /home/devel/project/openwrt/trunk/build_dir/target-mips_uClibc-0.9.32/root-atheros/etc/rc.local-opkg.backup using maintainer's setting. but found nothing to clarify the problem.

Not find information about any policies that prioritize my package.

I appreciate any information on changing this behavior.

Package installation order is undefined and may change arbritarily. Previously the install order was mostly alphabetic, now base-files is forced to be installed last for various compatibility reasons. The only place where you can relibably store custom overrides is the files/ directory in the buildroot topdir (its not there by default, you must create it).

Replying to jow:

Thanks for the clarification on that.
