#13597 closed defect (not_a_bug)

64 bit counters in mini-snmpd

Reported by: asturel Owned by: developers
Priority: high Milestone: Chaos Calmer 15.05
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: Counter64 mini_snmpd mini-snmpd Cc:

It would be great if mini-snmpd support Counter64, since Counter32 max is 4294967295 (232) which easily reachable in present days. I know that snmpd already supports it, but 4MB flash users cant afford it.

'not_a_bug' ? Basicly its unusable, since when you hit the 232 traffic it stuck. How hard is today to hit 4gb download? Pretty easy.

I too find the not_a_bug flag w/o a comment confusing. But looking at the mini_snmpd package it looks like it fetches its source from a now defunct website anyway. There's a new mini-snmpd website but there's no word that Mini SNMPd is now suddenly providing 64-bit counters. I could not find anything in the repo either. So, I could understand a WONTFIX because it's clearly something upstream should provide (or not, depending on their scope), but not_a_bug seems the wrong tag here.

I believe mini_snmpd is no longer available in Chaos Chalmer; I guess there's no maintainer for the package.
