x86 and qemu: bootup fails, /proc is not mounted correctly

Reported by: steven@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: base system Version:
Keywords: qemu, x86, /proc, boot Cc:

Description

As I recently updated from r7150 to latest Revision I am unable to boot my x86-Build in qemu.
It seems that /proc does not get mounted correctly at bootup. This is a bit strange because if I am switching to the serial emulation of qemu I can mount /proc without problems manually but of course due to the lack of /proc during bootup most of the init-stuff fails and the system is not really usable.

But in most cases it is even worse: Kamikaze completely crashes during bootup and does not even initialize the network cards. (get's stuck before at ": [remove_child_by_pid]: Invalid child list passed (NULL).", see bootlog)

I think this behaviour first occurs somewhere between r7150 and r7200 and then in all other newer revisions.

My configuration is just x86 with the default packages, kernel modules.

Some further testing revealed that the behaviour was introduced in r7200. Using latest revision with a r7199 trunk/package/base-files/files/sbin/mount_root works for me for now.
