The DG834G(v1) is exactly the same. The watchdog appears to intialise properly but never actually reboots the machine.

Replying to NRForbes:

Any news on this?
I am using r10082 but it seems i have the same problem.
It never reboots :/

Ignore the previous message from me, I had the wrong link. The correct one is: http://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=14403

Did you guys found the magic bit ? If so do you have a patch to propose for the RC ?

Another datapoint, the watchdog initializes but does *not* work on a DSL-502T that reports:

Jan 1 13:00:05 OpenWrt user.info kernel: console [early0] enabled
Jan 1 13:00:05 OpenWrt user.info kernel: CPU revision is: 00018448 (MIPS 4KEc)
Jan 1 13:00:05 OpenWrt user.warn kernel: bootcr is 0x25d4281
Jan 1 13:00:05 OpenWrt user.debug kernel: Clocks: prediv: 1, postdiv: 1, mul: 10
Jan 1 13:00:05 OpenWrt user.info kernel: TI AR7 (TNETD7300), ID: 0x0005, Revision: 0x02

That's consistent with what was discussed in the linked thread. I guess I'll put together a patch that disables the watchdog if it finds 0x10 is not set in bootcr.
