When the vlynq-pci support was dropped in r9143, the newer acx-mac80211 driver was updated accordingly to reflect this in r9144. As far as I see, the older acx driver was not updated in the same way. Unfortunately, the newer acx-mac80211 is still very developmental, does not support master mode properly and IMHO not very stable (#2559,#2555,#2547). Hence we are left with one stable driver that does not work at all and a half working driver that does. Granted, the older acx driver only supports WEP as encryption, but at least it is stable in master mode.
Would it be possible to modify the the older acx driver so that it can work with the vlynq-pci changes? The acx driver in trunk (r9762) does not work; the following is seen when when it is insmodded:
root@Bunny:/# insmod acx debug=0xffff [42949468.300000] acx: this driver is still EXPERIMENTAL [42949468.300000] acx: reading README file and/or Craig's HOWTO is recommended, visit http://acx100.sf.net in case of further questions/discussion [42949468.310000] 94946831 ==> acxpci_e_init_module [42949468.310000] acx: compiled to use 32bit I/O access. I/O timing issues might occur, such as non-working firmware upload. Report them [42949468.320000] acx: running on a little-endian CPU [42949468.320000] acx: PCI module v0.3.36 initialized, waiting for cards to probe... [42949468.330000] 94946833 <== acxpci_e_init_module: 00000000
I think it is just a matter of applying what has been done in r9144 to the acx code.
