Description

I'm using r10786, linux 2.6 kernel, brcm47xx platform.

I guess there is an error in OpenWRT when you use network WITHOUT kmod-ipv6 module. I tested some application which just fail, if kmod-ipv6 in not installed.

here is a strace output of mpc, without ipv6 (just an example)

socket(PF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = -1 EAFNOSUPPORT (Address family not supported by protocol)
socket(PF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = -1 EAFNOSUPPORT (Address family not supported by protocol)
socket(PF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = -1 EAFNOSUPPORT (Address family not supported by protocol)
socket(PF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = -1 EAFNOSUPPORT (Address family not supported by protocol)
socket(PF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = -1 EAFNOSUPPORT (Address family not supported by protocol)
socket(PF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = -1 EAFNOSUPPORT (Address family not supported by protocol)
socket(PF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = -1 EAFNOSUPPORT (Address family not supported by protocol)
socket(PF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = -1 EAFNOSUPPORT (Address family not supported by protocol)
socket(PF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = -1 EAFNOSUPPORT (Address family not supported by protocol)
socket(PF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = -1 EAFNOSUPPORT (Address family not supported by protocol)

loops forever...

so i guess a) this should not happen (eg. bug) or b) kmod-ipv6 should be installed on each system.

This was actually a bug in uClibc, fixed in [11106]. Thanks for reporting it!
