How?

comment:4 Changed 7 years ago by user888@…

Supporting WRT610n consists of multiple things:

  • Adding support for Broadcom BCM4322 wireless chip (b43 project doesn't support 4322 or at least not the 'n' spec. Not totally clear to me, see http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43)
  • Adding support for the Broadcom BCM53115 switch

  • Milestone set to Kamikaze Features Paradise
  • Version set to Kamikaze trunk

  • Priority changed from normal to response-needed

It appears that BCM4322 is supported by b43 now, can anyone confirm support for the BCM53115 switch?

in dd-wrt all works (on 2.6 kernel). so support should be given....

Yes support is possible, but we need someone writing a patch for OpenWrt or an OpenWrt developer needs a device to add support for it. Then V1 and V2 are different V1 uses a bcm4705 (bcm4785) and V2 uses bcma4716.

The WRT610N V1 should work with OpenWrt now, but no 802.11n rates and no 5GHz wifi.

Does this mean that the fix has been tested and now it's possible to install OpenWRT and have it working?

I'm running git on a wrt610n v1.
