#6255 closed defect (fixed)

asterisk16 does not run in brcm47xx

Reported by: ldpaniak Owned by: zandbelt
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: asterisk16 Cc: stephendwalker+openwrt@…

Description

Compiling from trunk r18606, asterisk16 in brcm47xx on a WL500gP refuses to run.

Starting asterisk manually
initially complains that /var/run/asterisk directory does not exist. Making that directory and starting, asterisk console gives "Unable to connect to remote asterisk (does /var/run/asterisk/asterisk.ctl exist?)"

The file does exist:

root@OpenWrt:/etc/asterisk# ls /var/run/asterisk
asterisk.ctl  asterisk.pid

But asterisk does not appear to be running.

Could you check that the permissions on this directory and file are correct?

It turns out that the configuration files shipped with asterisk16 in OpenWRT are incomplete. Copying in a basic configuration from an Asterisk tarball and adjusting file locations is sufficient to get things going.

The init script just needs to reflect that fact that /etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf is using

astrundir => /var/run/asterisk

Running asterisk -v also outputs:

ERROR[1246]: indications.c:1041 load_indications: Can't find indications config file indications.conf.

-> indications.conf isn't being packaged.

WARNING[1144]: loader.c:386 load_dynamic_module: Error loading module 'res_musiconhold.so': File not found

-> /etc/asterisk/modules.conf is loading res_musiconhold.so. Add asterisk16-res-musiconhold to asterisk16's DEPENDS or patch /etc/asterisk/modules.conf to not load the module?

WARNING[1144]: db.c:57 dbinit: Unable to open Asterisk database '/var/lib/asterisk/astdb': No such file or directory

-> to be expected harmless warning with a clean install?
