#6995 new enhancement

hso support in comgt

Reported by: Raivis Rengelis <raivis@…> Owned by: developers
Priority: low Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: hso, option, comgt Cc:

Description

Rudimentary support for Option hso devices. Works for me with GTM382 built in RUT-104 by Teltonika (Wiligear WBD-111). Definitely needs improvement, but serves as a good starting point.
Use:

config interface hso

option ifname hso0

option proto hso

option device /dev/ttyHS2

option apn internet.lmt.lv

You have to specify hso ifname, scripts will find correct ttyHS device on their own. All the rest of parameters like username and password are the same as for 3g proto.

Just FYI for the Option Icon 322 (ATT Quicksilver), it uses AT_OPDPP=1,1 instead of AT$QCPDPP
Perhaps the script could check the model of the card?

Thanks for the work!

I have no way to test it, so I'll leave it to someone who has the device at hands. But yes, it can be done for sure.

Why is this patch never added to trunk?

Option HSO-Cards are actual cards and a lot of users need support in
Backfire, AA and/or Trunk ?

At present time this patch needs a fix/update for using it with actual AA and Trunk

I have an Option GlobeSurfer 3+ router with GTM661 modem.
For now, i use the default 3G comgt script and protocol but i have stability issue, the router reboots on it's own.

I'd like to try this patch, is there a version for AA ? The current patch does not apply exactly with AA.

LuCI interface for HSO protocol, to use with http://git.openwrt.org/project/luci.git

I made modification to hso connection scripts. The network mode can be selected ( GSM or UMTS ). The PDP context used is # 2 so the modem GPS can use PDP context # 1 for A-GPS connection. The modem connection log can be viewed with logread. chat is still used for the connection.

The LuCI configuration interface that goes with this is base on http://git.openwrt.org/project/luci.git. You can changed which luci you are using on OpenWRT 12.09 by editing the LuCI repository in feeds.conf.default. The patch adds luci-proto-hso package to LuCI protocols list.

Is it in trunk already or not?
