#7370 new defect

rtc-rv5c386a not working on wl-hdd with 2.6.32.10 kernel

Reported by: CraFT Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc: crazyft@…

Description

I worked long time on kamikaze trunk version (don't remember revision for now), it was 2.6.30.7 kernel. RTC module worked good. After i flashed backfire 10.03 (kernel 2.6.32.10), rtc stop working correctly.
Module loads ok, but reports wrong time, always "2165:85:165:255:165:165:165".
logread reports "*RTC BATTERY FAILURE*".
Flashed back "old build" - all works ok, so it's not battery fault.
Also tried to compile rtc module from same source for different kernels - same result, works on 2.6.30, but fails on 2.6.32 kernel.

Replying to CraFT:

Hi,

if you use the gcc 4.3.3+cs toolchain you maybe wanna give the older 4.2.4 toolchain a try. I encountered problems with 4710A0 CPU while using 4.3.3+cs, The NFS-kernel server timed out while start, starting transmission ends up in a fault (libcurl) and so on. I'll include my package just in case. Tested with 2.4 and 2.6.32 (incl. other versions).

Regards,
b.sander

Worked, thanks! Only one inaccuracy in your package: gpio.h is symlink to nonexistent file. just copied one from another package, now all compiled and worked ok.
FYI, i have gcc-4.4 installed in system, no problem. I think, rtc.c in trunk package must be replaced with yours.
