Humm, you're doing it wrong, try this instead:

$ scripts/feeds update
$ scripts/feeds install -d m aircrack-ng
$ make package/feeds/packages/aircrack-ng/compile BUILD_LOG=1

Replying to nico:

$ make package/feeds/packages/aircrack-ng/compile BUILD_LOG=1

Hm, I tried what you suggested with the very same result = build failed. Simply selecting aircrack-ng in "make menuconfig" followed by "make" fails at aircrack-ng compile (this anyway was my first try before compiling aircrack-ng alone). Just curious, I'm not a newbie with compiling OpenWrt firmwares. Here is my result:

[orange@arch backfire]$ scripts/feeds install -d m aircrack-ng
++ mkdir -p /home/orange/OpenWrt/backfire/staging_dir/toolchain-mips_gcc-4.3.3+cs_uClibc-0.9.30.1
++ cd /home/orange/OpenWrt/backfire/staging_dir/toolchain-mips_gcc-4.3.3+cs_uClibc-0.9.30.1
++ mkdir -p stamp lib us
orange@arch backfire]$ make package/feeds/packages/aircrack-ng/compile BUILD_LOG=1
++ mkdir -p /home/orange/OpenWrt/backfire/staging_dir/toolchain-mips_gcc-4.3.3+cs_uClibc-0.9.30.1
++ cd /home/orange/OpenWrt/backfire/staging_dir/toolchain-mips_gcc-4.3.3+cs_uClibc-0.9.30.1

Would you please help me fixing this? Thanks!

You're right. I did a mistake by leaving out "package/" in front of "feeds/.../aircrack-ng/compile V=99" when trying to compile aircrack-ng alone. Still, it fails to compile for a very clear reason: It cannot download the aircrack-ng tarball. Just wondering why it works for you??? Checked the tarball address with Firefox and it indeed isn't there - 404.

nico, may you please take care of https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/7567 from a long term perspective? This would fix both issues at once. I'll try aircrack-ng 1.1 on my own and will provide an updated Makefile once I succeeded with that. Thanks!

Fixed in [22090], thnaks for spotting this. The 1.0 tarball was also uploaded on http://downloads.openwrt.org/sources/.
