DIR-825: Wireless completely broken after changeset 24017

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: highest Milestone: Backfire 10.03.1
Component: kernel Version: Trunk
Keywords: wifi Cc:

Description

Since changeset 24014, DIR-825 wireless stopped working with previous config. I had to reflash DIR-825 a few times because it failed to reboot using previous working and well tested configuration.

TX power setting fails: SET failed on device wlan0
Channel setting fails too: Could not set channel for kernel driver
Both radios shown as 14db max power
Most times HT40 fails too even on clean and allowed channels.

HT40 has a bug in wireless-testing 2010-11-16. Try the patch from http://marc.info/?l=linux-wireless&m=129002968431119.

Why on earth someone decided to "update" to the wireless testing before fixing its bugs? It messed up the trunk.

If you want to use a stable one, you should not use the trunk.

I would if it worked correctly.
