6in4 ping problems

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Backfire 10.03.1
Component: packages Version: Backfire 10.03.1 RC4
Keywords: 6in5 ipv6 ip6 Cc:

Description

ping6 ipv6.google.com worked in WRT54GL

client got ipv6 address but could ping...

Searched and searched until I found
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r23888509-

Yea, checking the routes on the WRT54GL - no routes back

added as a work-around
ip -6 route add 2001:470:28:xxxx::/64 dev br-lan
in /etc/firewall.user (together with IPv6 rules...)

config interface

option interface 'lan'
option AdvSendAdvert 1
option AdvManagedFlag 0
option AdvOtherConfigFlag 0
option AdvCurHopLimit 64
option AdvLinkMTU 1280 # Optional - only provide it is also provided in /etc/config/network NOT WORKING IMHO
option ignore 0

config prefix

option interface 'lan'
option AdvSendAdvert 1
# If not specified, a non-link-local prefix of the interface is used

# option prefix '2001:470:zzzz::/48'

option prefix '2001:470:28:xxxx::/64'

# option AdvOnLink 1

option AdvAutonomous 1
option AdvRouterAddr 0
option AdvValidLifetime 300
option AdvPreferredLifetime 120
option ignore 0

}

With this I can both ping6 google and ping6 the client from other prefix - other ISP.

I had the same problem and I see you use a HE.NET tunnel (same as I do).

Make sure your LAN interface also have an IPv6 address (I put the first ::1 from the /64 block on the LAN interface).

And make sure you've setup ip6tables to forward traffic from your LAN interface to the 6in4-henet interface.

Here is everything working with Backfire 10.3.1 RC4

Thought I had done it that way... Need to retest.
